In honor of National Picnic Month, KFC is giving away the fashion statement no one ever knew they needed: a shirt that converts into a picnic blanket.
The brand announced this week that it is giving away 100 KFC ‘Picnic Polos’ so customers can plop down and enjoy a picnic wherever they are.
The red gingham button-down shirts feature a fold-out red picnic blanket that attaches to the bottom, and can be folded up and stored in a pocket when it’s not in use.

Too funny! The red gingham button-down shirts convert into picnic blankets
‘Its pocket technology holds a secret picnic blanket appropriate for any and all outdoor occasions,’ explains the brand.
‘When you put on the Picnic Polo, you’ll roll into National Drive-Thru Day, glide into backyard cookouts, and swagger past rolling meadows, knowing you’re the only person with the power to transform your shirt into a picnic.’
The shirt-blanket hybrid also includes a utensil holder.
‘The Colonel was no stranger to bold fashion statements like his signature white suit and black string-tie, and we know that he would be a fan of this trendy and functional Picnic Polo,’ Andrea Zahumensky, chiefmarketing officer, KFC U.S., said in a press release.

Awkward! The only catch is that the picnic blanket remains attached to the bottom of the shirt — meaning the person wearing it has to stay in one place while the meal’s being served

Nom nom: KFC is selling a Cheetos fried chicken sandwich across the US this month
Earlier this month, KFC debuted a limited-edition Cheetos sandwich across the US, which is in stores through the end of July.
The special Crispy Colonel fried chicken sandwich, which is topped with Cheetos puffs and Cheetos sauce, was a major hit when it first began testing in select locations.
‘For years, people have been creating their own versions of a Cheetos-fied sandwich at home, and now the fried chicken experts at KFC are launching the Cheetos Sandwich across the U.S. and giving fans the cheesy, crispy crunch that they’ll love,’ the brand said in a press release.
‘Both KFC and Cheetos have dedicated and passionate fanbases, so it only made sense to merge these two iconic brands together to provide an irresistible and flavorful sandwich that offers the best of both worlds.’
