Moxy Hotels launches in-room A.S.M.R. for guests with Bella Thorne
As part of its new Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (A.S.M.R.) feature, the experiential Marriott International hotel brand gave guests the option of watching either the sisters or singer Caroline Vreeland whisper their unique stories while using a series of delightfully noisy props.
Known as an alternative to meditation, A.S.M.R. is a sensory experience in which certain visual, auditory, and haptic triggers create a calming and pleasurable feeling that is often accompanied by a tingling sensation.

The in-room videos, which launched on April 15 and were available for just one month, were co-created with Whisperlodge.
The clips were the latest installment of Moxy Hotels’ global signature Bedtime Stories program, which features 60-second stories under the themes ‘chill out,’ ‘go out,’ or ‘pass out’ for guests at all its locations to listen to in their bedrooms.
According to a press release, the hotel feature was the first-of-its-kind and encouraged guests to watch to help them wind down after a long day in the Big Apple.
For the launch, Bella, 21, and Dani, 26, filmed a ‘filthy’ bedtime story, which was also shared on YouTube.
Added feature: The hotel chain offered the soothing in-room videos for guests at its new New York City location in Chelsea for one month only, starting on April 15

At the start of the nearly two-minute long clip, they introduce themselves as the Thorne sisters before taking turns pouring Pop Rocks candy onto their tongues and leaning towards their mics while they crackle.
‘I’m liking this,’ Bella whispers.
Dani then shares they are going to put on makeup from Bella’s cosmetics line, with each of them making a point to make noise while twisting the caps of the eye shadows they’re using on and off.
They also shake dice and suck on lollipops before things take a more titillating turn.
‘I don’t want to stop,’ Dani says as she squeezes a sequin pillow.

Caroline, 31, had a slightly different approach while filming her A.S.M.R. video, opting to instead indulge in some of her favorite foods.
She starts by ringing a bell and leaning into the microphone to breathily whisper: ‘I’m Caroline Vreeland and I’d like to show you how to properly enjoy a meal.’
The singer laughs while stirring her spaghetti and twirling it around her fork, explaining: ‘This is my favorite food, I love the texture.’

Indulging: After eating spaghetti, she dug into a tray of pizza. ‘Taking part in these A.S.M.R. Bedtime Stories was very stimulating,’ she said in a statement
Caroline, who tells viewers not to be afraid of making a mess, makes a big production of wiping her lips with her scratchy cloth napkin.
When she rings the bell a second time, someone brings her second favorite thing — a bottle of red wine.
‘A glass of wine is like a vacation between bites,’ she says after expertly pouring herself a glass.
For her next course, she is given a box of pizza, which she happily digs into.
‘Pasta is my wife, but pizza is my mistress,’ she explains.
‘Taking part in these A.S.M.R. Bedtime Stories was very stimulating,’ Caroline said in a statement. ‘I want Moxy Chelsea hotel guests to feel like they are right there with me, sharing my meal.’
Speaking about the A.S.M.R. experience, Toni Stoeckl, vice president of distinctive select brands for Marriott International, said in a statement : ‘Moxy is a brand known for stimulating guests at our hotels with bold immersive art.
‘This latest installment of our Bedtime Stories series feels undeniably Moxy – pushing the boundaries in a fun, playful way, and giving guests something they won’t experience at any other hotel.’
